American Ironhorse first opened their doors as a motorcycle manufacturer in Texas during the mid 90's. American Ironhorse is a specialty custom chopper manufacturer and producers of custom cruisers throughout the Americas and for export around the world.

Utilising all of the latest in motorcycle technology, coupled with the vintage look of American heavyweight cruisers and choppers, the American Ironhorse motorcycle quickly took a stand in popularity throughout the US and Canada, with dealerships located in nearly all 50 US states and Canada's territories.

American Ironhorse, like most of the major custom chopper builders today, also offer a variety of off the shelf, after market add-ons for Harley-Davidson and other favourite cruisers as well as lots of merchandise.

In today's day and age merchandising is a must. American Ironhorse, along with the other custom shops offer hats, shirts and even riding vests, just as an example.

Although American Ironhorse has had some popularity over the years, they have also had their down falls. In 2005 three out of their six major lines had been recalled. The American Ironhorse motorcycles come with a progressive suspension, but due to an error by one of the assemblers, the spring plate assembly had been installed upside down on 200 of their motorcycles. A recall was ordered due to the fact that the spring plate would cause one of the shocks to prematurely go dead and make the heavyweight chopper lean to one side.

American Ironhorse quickly remedied this fault and has not had any more similar accidents.

Now as for their off the shelf after market parts, American Ironhorse parts, although expensive, have been proven to be more efficient in the durability and performance sectors.

American Ironhorse also purchases back their older units, to resale on their website as slightly used. This comes, of course, after a complete ground up restoration of the motorcycle to ensure that the American Ironhorse quality is maintained for future motorcycle enthusiasts for many generations to come.
