Confederate Motorcycles was founded in 1991 by Matt Chambers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. With the concept of rebellion in their mind, Confederate motorcycle set out to build motorcycles in their most primitive and rugged form.
Although Confederate Motorcycles was founded in 1991, it wasn't until 2005, that they had scheduled the release of their first motorcycle, The Hellcat.
The entire Confederate Motorcycle factory was destroyed and levelled to the ground by the infamous New Orleans, Hurricane Katrina in 2005. With the entire region surrounding New Orleans and Baton Rouge devastated, and all of their work on the Hellcat destroyed, Confederate Motorcycles decided to move to another area and found a place in the home of Barber Motorsports Museum which was located in Birmingham, Alabama.
Confederate Motorcycles, undeterred by the destruction from the hurricane soon went into production of their first motorcycle.
They produced 250 examples of their motorcycles.
