Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn. Bhd or also known as Modenas, is a Malaysian motorcycle manufacturer who produces small motorcycles below 200 cc which are targeted for the local market as well as export. Modena's headquarters and manufacturing facility are located in Gurun, Kedah, Malaysia.

In the early 1990's, after the success of the Malaysian automotive manufacturer Proton, began the history of Modena in which the government had wanted to launch a national motorcycle project and Modena was chosen to head up this project. By 1995 Modenas was founded.

In 1996, Modenas launched their first scooter/motorcycle, the Modenas Kris which had been named after a Malay weapon that is called by the same name.

During the Malaysian National Day parade in 1996 the Modenas Kris was shown to the public and soon began production by the end of that same year. Originally this motorcycle had only utilised drum brakes, but a front disk set up would be added in.

Modenas released a factory production race motorcycle in 1997 which had a 500 cc V-3 motor, they had been produced for Modenas KR Motorcycle Grand Prix Team during the late 1990's into the early 2000's.

By the beginning of 2004, Modenas was ready to launch a new motorcycle into production which was to be there first water-cooled scooter, which was intended for travelling over great distances rather than as a working commute vehicle.

Modenas still continues to produce a variety of scooter, motorcycle and racing inspired motorcycles for Malaysia as well as the rest of the world.
