The Monark Motorcycle Company who is better know by the name of Cykelfabriken Monark AB as well as Monark AB, is a Swedish based motorcycle, bicycle and moped manufacturer which was established by an industrialist named Birger Svensson in Varberg, Sweden in the year 1908.

By the 1950's, Monark had proved to be very successful in off-road motorcycle competitions and in 1954 The Monark Motorcycle Company had entered 8 motorcycles into the International Six Days Trial which is a form of off-road motorcycle Olympics. That first year all 8 of The Monark Motorcycle Company riders finished with Gold Medals and again in 1959, Sten Lundin had won the Motocross World Championship in the 500 cc division for The Monark Motorcycle Company.

By 1961, The Monark Motorcycle Company had merged with Nymanbolagen Motorcycles from Uppsala, Sweden where the merger created a new entity known as Monark-Crescentbolagen or for short, MCB.

The Monark Motorcycle Company still produces motorcycles today in Sweden.
